Indonesia hotel guide : Jakarta, Bali, Lombok, Yogyakarta, Bandung, Surabaya

Like usual I only portray a small selection of hotels where I recently stayed at and that I find worth mentioning. I will update the list several times per year.

Jakarta

1. FOUR SEASONS HOTEL, Jl. Hr Rasuna Said

Best place to stay in Jakarta like in Bangkok as well. Staff is their most valuable asset, the interior is also sweet although it is not the newest anymore and not of the highest class. They have a French manager and things are European influenced which I regard as welcome.

http://www.vimeo.com/11382340

2. MANDARIN ORIENTAL, Jl. Mh Thamrin

The flashiest place currently around and it was just completely renovated with a multi-million dollar budget. They have the hardware but lack the software. As I got told from Four Seasons a large part of their staff is fresh hired, about half of them lack character and downgrade your joy about the extremely stylish rooms which are perfect.

http://www.vimeo.com/11385319

3. GRAND HYATT, Jl. Mh Thamrin

Very established place. Although everything in there looks artificial and cold, look beyond that initial bummer. The location is great, you know what your are getting for a certain price, you can collect points and there are always interesting people around. Management there is very cool and stable.

http://www.vimeo.com/5130865

4. HOTEL MULIA, Jl. Asia Afrika Senayan

Very popular hotel among expats. Place is best known for its bar CJs. The hotel is surprisingly well maintained and people around are friendly. The golden glitz is not my design taste though.

http://www.vimeo.com/12322602

5. SHANGRI-LA, Jl. Sudirman

Hotel looks a bit run-down and older, but it is always fun there and relaxed. They have BATS, the Chi Spa, good restaurants like the japanese one and there is always something happening at Shangri-la. A place that should not be missed.

http://www.vimeo.com/1451993

Bali

1. MAYA UBUD, jl. Gunung Sari Peliatan, Ubud

The wife of the Indonesian president stayed there. The most charming place to stay at the most beautiful area of Bali : Ubud. A great place to chill out and relax for a few days.

http://www.vimeo.com/11376792

2. FOUR SEASONS, Jimbaran Bay

Not the best Four Seasons, but one of the best hotels on Bali. The garden is huge and beautiful. Jimbaran beach isn’t beautiful like all Bali beaches but the location is one of the best.

http://www.vimeo.com/11393338

3. AMANKILA, Manggis

One of the most expensive places to stay on Bali. If you like it secluded and private, Candi Dasa/Manggis might be ideal for you. The service is supposed to be superb. The hotel design and villas look fine but not fantastic for the price.

4. DISINI VILLAS, Jalan Mertasari 28, Seminyak

Excellent price/value deal in Seminyak. You have a nice villa with pool and plenty of space.

http://www.vimeo.com/6890531

5. GRAND HYATT, Nusa Dua

One of the best places in Nusa Dua. The beach sucks, but the garden and pool of the hotel is beautiful.

http://www.vimeo.com/6769742

6. KARMA KANDARA, Jalan Villa Kandara Banjar Ungusan

Nice view but that’s about it. Overprized.

http://www.vimeo.com/6871860

7. LE JARDIN VILLAS, Jalan Sarinande No. 7

Good price/value place in Seminyak. Staff tried to screw me on my second visit, so I am not neutral anymore.

http://www.vimeo.com/5098216

Lombok

1. OBEROI HOTEL, Medana beach

Best place to stay on Lombok. The gardeners did a fantastic job. Lombok is good for a long weekend visit : there is not much to do and Gili Islands are overrated.

http://www.vimeo.com/5494992

Yogyakarta

1. HYATT REGENCY, Jalan Palagan Tentara Pelajar

Magical place. I could easily spend there weeks. Time is passing fast in Yogyakarta. Staff is the friendliest I ever encountered in Indonesia. The hotel looks like a Borobudur temple. The pool is beautiful, almost like a small adventure theme park. The rooms are simple but sufficient. The whole atmosphere is hard to describe. I love that place.

http://www.vimeo.com/11365365

Bandung

1. HYATT REGENCY, Jalan Sumatera No. 51

Best place to stay in Bandung. The Hyatt Group is really strong in Indonesia. Bandung is underrated, lots of things to do and I will have a closer look next time.

Surabaya

1. SHANGRI-LA hotel, Jl. May. Jend. Sungkono 120

Very charming, colorful and open place. No stupid security checks like in Jakarta and the place allows you to experience the true Indonesian hospitality character.

Bang, Bang, Bangkok – Fuck for life and the Golden Path

Some major happenings occured for me in the past weeks.

Global Happy Pills, herbal lifestyle drugs, is a major project, still in early stage phase.
Watmasia is a Spa / Massage Parlor concept I started 3 years ago together with my ex-Thai girl-friend A., the one who is now married with that ex-SEA McKinsey (you guys are fantastic at reinventing the wheel) bullshitter. She opened 2 spas herself in Bahrain. I myself have the project still on freeze mode.

I was close to buy land in Ubud, Bali but canceled the deal shortly before because I didn’t feel legally enough protected even with founding a foreign investment company and an Indonesian partner. I worried I would get screwed in the intensive project when not being physically present all the time. In Thailand the situation is even worse.
I already got in touch with Bill Bensley, maybe one of the 5 coolest architects across whole Asia.
He surprisingly was replying to my request and showed interest. He resides in Bangkok, so maybe we get a chance to meet up later this year.
Bill Bensley did the Four Seasons designs in Bangkok and Tented camps Chiang Rai for example and plenty of other cool stuff.

bkk_faculty_pharmaceutical_sciences

Enough of business, let’s dive into Bangkok and the explanation of the video :
The city of angels has something for everyone to offer.
I pretty much like to stay now at Four Seasons, Rajadamri Road. It is close to Siam Square and in the centre of everything, you get easily to Sukhumvit too.

By chance I got to know a really inspiring person. She is half German, half Thai.
I am glad we only had dinner at To Die For restaurant and stay in touch as friends. She is no person for short-time fun, she ranks marriage caliber.
Her looks are more Thai, but her behavior is more German. She understands both worlds, eastern and western and we share plenty of similar views on life. She studied in Switzerland, had been working at quiet a lot of places and longs for more stability now in her life in Bangkok.
When you browse through the girls of Global Nanpa, you might say that she looks close to one of the least attractive ones. Maybe true, but she ranks highest on the trust scale which is much more difficult to find and that is a lot more important for friendships and relations.

A really interesting thing I figured out during my travels is that a few really smart people in the nightlife business and especially in the sex industry have very stable relations on their own. They make money with the short-time business and keep their private relation on the long-term scale. It makes sense. Imagine you are surrounded by dozens or even hundreds of sexy girls every day where you know that those girls are sticking their tongues into every next paying customers : you will get sick of the business. It was a real surprise for me to find out that some  big guys have wifes for a long time and those wifes often would not make the first round in any beauty peagent.
This all does not mean that I don’t feel attracted by beauty. The opposite is the case, I just want to explain that trust is something much more rare to find.
My friend Chokchai for example, manager of G-club Forte, is now since 3 years together with his girl-friend, who is very pretty by the way, and he is not butterflying. It is very determined by the job I guess. He someday will become a great boutique hotel owner.
This all sounds too negative : I really love the nightlife and entertainment with sexy girls involved. I only want to mention some aspects you mostly won’t read somewhere else.

So what about Soi Cowboy : It is fun for short-time – Baccara, Shark and Tilac still the best bars in my eyes. Nana Plaza remains quite dead, I did not check out any bar there last time.
Somehow my time in Bangkok was passing pretty fast and I wasn’t able to arrange much preplanned stuff. I also talked to people at Poseidon and Caesar’s , the luxury massage parlor buildings on Ratchadapisek. We made some calculations there together, especially interested in finding out a potential purchase value. All the existing numbers you currently can find in the internet about Poseidon are way wrong but this is nothing to be posted in public areas anyway.

Pharmacies I currently recommend in Bangkok are South East Pharmacy on Sukhumvit, close Sukhumvit Soi 15 and Dream Hotel. Also have a look at the smaller pharmacy Pharmacare Drug Store and ask for Eddie there. It is located at 236/5 Sukhumvit Soi 12.

I am closing with a citation of Leonardo di Caprio :
People don’t want heroes : what they want is to see you fall !

So check out the video and get your ass to Mars (South East Asia) :

jakarta_spa

Like ususal I only portray the places I recently visited and that I find worth mentioning. All those spas/massage parlors are “dirty” ones. I will include normal spas in a seperate list on the same page later on. Bangkok and Jakarta in my eyes are the very best places worldwide for an excellent massage : non-dirty, as well as dirty. I will update the list several times per year.

“Dirty ones” :

1. ALEXIS SPA, Alexis hotel, 7th flor
Jl. R.E. Martadinata No.1, North Jakarta
Tel : 02169833333

Most high upscale dirty spa in Jakarta. They have around 80 girls coming from Indonesia, China, Thailand and Russia/Uzbekistan. The Indonesian girls are the cheapest but prettiest ones in my eyes there.

2. MALIOBORO HOTEL&SPA
Gajah Mada Street, Kota area, near Gajahmada Plaza Shopping Centre

They have around 200 girls working there, building has 6 flors. It is not as dark as Alexis and easier to move around. They also have more expensive Chinese and Russian girls.

3. V2 LOUNGE, 4th flor
Jl. Gajahmada Duta Merlin Plaza, West Jakarta
Tel. : 02163865000

Stylish place, a bit more spacious than the Alexis spa with about 100 girls. The Indonesian girls are very sexy. Impressive bathing and work-out places. Feels like the “grown-up” version of Alexis.

http://www.vimeo.com/11582857

4. EMPORIUM SPA
Jl. Pecenongan, Central Jakarta
Tel. : 0213521133

Extremely friendly staff. They have around 80 girls. Girls and place ranks a bit below the other 3 but still the fun level can be very high.

http://vimeo.com/11584898

5.  GRAND BOUTIQUE SPA, Hotel Orchardz, 6th flor
Jl. Industri raya 8 gunung Sahari, behind Sheraton Gurung Sahari, West Jakarta
Tel. : 62317788

They have 20 girls and 1 stylish room. Manager is very friendlly.

6. HOTEL TRAVEL, Spa
Jl. Mangga Besar VIII/21, West Jakarta
Tel : 0216012721

They have around 200 girls, mostly average looking. The place is popular probably because of the low price level.

http://www.vimeo.com/11584640

7. DELTA GUNUNG SAHARI (Puri Group spa)
Komp. Marinatoma (Inkopal) Blok F 21-23, Jl. Gunung Sahari Raya No.2, Jakarta Utara
Tel. : 0216404255

This spa is non-dirty actually and really cheap. A 90 min aromatherapy costs 230k IDR for example. This spa is french decor styled. Mostly Asian customers in Kota, they are very friendly.

Normal spa :

1. FOUR SEASONS HOTEL, Jl. Hr Rasuna Said

Very professional organized spa. The design is beautiful like the entire hotel.

2. SHANGRI-LA HOTEL, Jalan Sudirman Kav.1

The Chi spa group is the only one worldwide I encountered so far that was able to guarantee you very qualified staff almost everywhere.

3. MANDARIN ORIENTAL, Jalan Thamrin

Very modern spa. Expensive but good.

lavidaloca

Big bunda land (BBL) vs. Land of smiles (LOS) : The United Nations of Sex strike back and living la vida loca

Sex unites the world, more than music, dancing or hugging does.
„In times of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.“

The game of my travels was to find out what THE question really was. I start to understand now and the truth will set you free.

At first i wasn’t too excited about this trip and saw it more like doing it for the website and not for enjoying myself.
But the trip turned out to at least prove that Brazil got some very pretty chicas, the language Portuguese however is the major problem if you look for the girl-friend experience which I mostly do.

Air France fucked up my flight pretty much. Because of a delay in Berlin, I almost missed my connection flight in Paris to Rio. Charles-de-Gaulle is a horrible airport. It is the 3rd time now I flew over it and I always had problems there, every time. It is a huge airport, long ways, unefficient and time intensive bus transfers, not enough personal for passport checks.
I really hate to write bad things about anything in France, I work together closely with many French people and the French are mostly my best buddies around when being abroad. Please forgive me writing so bad about the airport and Air France.
I am still interested in the route from KLM over Amsterdam to Manila which had been a fast and cheap route.

Immigration in Rio de Janeiro was a blast. This guy at first looked funny at me and after he scanned in my passport he said : it’s an honor to have you here.
BANG, BANG, BANG. Now that was a nice welcome.
I didn’t know before that it is officially only allowed to exchange 3500 Euros per day which is totally silly. The person at the money exchange made a phone call and afterwards I was able to take out unlimited money which she booked on my Indonesia visa.

Coming out of the airport, I found a crazy taxi driver. He switched on some porn DVD on his little TV in the taxi. So time was flying untill I made it to hotel Orla, which lies at Forte Copacabana, directly between the 2 beaches Copacabana and Ipanema. The location was really ideal for me. The hotel itself is ok, a standard 3 star hotel. A sea view room cost me 120 Euro per night. Don’t expect the luxury and service you would get in SEA. In SEA you get 1 star more for  the same money and the service and friendliness of the people is unreached in SEA.
Nevertheless I had no problems at hotel Orla, it was ok for my needs. Only the joiners fee of 175 real sucked (although having booked for 2 people) and moreover you are not allowed to bring 2 girls which I had tried once and then had to take an additional hotel.
The best hotels on Copacabana are Copacabana Palace and JW Marriott and the best hotel on Ipanema beach is Caesars Palace. The hotels really didn’t impress me. You pay 300 USD for a room that you can get for 150 USD in Bangkok and the service will be better and the whole style and experience will be better in Bangkok too. Moreover try searching for a good spa, there isn’t any. Latina’s also suck at giving a proper massage.

ipanema_beach_globalnanpa

I like Ipanema beach more than Copacabana and I chilled out there almost every afternoon around 2pm. The best chicks happened to hang out around close to Caesers Palace, surprise, surprise… The girls playing beach volleyball are often hot too, but it is really difficult to chat with them even if you are fluent in Portuguese. These girls are hot assets and there are tons of muscle packed guys watching them and trying to get close to them.
Competition among good-looking guys is fierce, they all seem to work out and spend a lot time on their looks. So my strategy was to rely on money, European charms, making them laugh and taking them to many places for girl-hunting.

Best pick-up places for normal girls are the normal clubs in my eyes. I went to club Baronetti in Ipanema, to Melt in Leblon and to Nuth in Barra de Tijuca.
One night at club Baronetti I got really drunk. My alcohol tolerance was low not having drunk a single beer over 3 months in Germany, trying to prepare my body for heavy upcoming intoxications, almost no sleep and for other chemicals/herbs.
I currently go jogging in Germany 2-3 times per week, 10km in 45-50 minutes. Whenever I return from a trip, I can quickly feel how much the trip brought my stamina down. The longer the trip, the more dangerous it gets more me, the more I drift apart and the crazier my videos get.
I am actually not very happy with the result of my Rio videos, I think I simply shoot better when getting more out of control which I wasn’t this time.
Back to club Baronetti : I met there a really hot girl whom I took back to my room. When I woke up, my head hurt, I saw a smashed hotel lamp lieing next to me. The glass and the lamp bulb inside broke and there were glass splitters all over the place which I at first collected and put into trash. Then I tried to remember what had happened. I cannot remember how she managed to smash the lamp over my head. Then I looked around the room and got shocked. There was an open guarana juice can standing on top of the drawer where I had some legal herbal drug samples inside which I got from a person from Drogasmil, the largest pharmacy chain of Brazil.
She poured the juice into the drawer, destroying them. That made me a lot more mad than that she also stole around 700 Real (took around 1000 Real with me that night) and she also took my small digicam which I mostly use for additional lighting. I have no idea why I didn’t lock my stuff that night which I mostly do also when getting totally hammered. Gladly I had the laptop and camcorder in the safe which I didn’t take with me that night.
Rio really got some crazy girls, I have the feeling that she might did this when she looked through my staff (maybe while I showered) and saw all my maps and Termas information. Maybe it was some form of a hot, passionate, jealous reaction of her ? I will never find out, but all this didn’t make the impression on me that it was planned.

latina_globalnanpa
For clubbing I certainly like Asia more : Jakarta and Bangkok play in a much higher league than Rio. The music was a bit strange in Rio, the clubs are not that cool designed, only really positive were the dresses of the girls. I saw some incredible fine chicks and they were really hot dressed. English is quiet a  problem. But the clubs are still the best place to find girls who speak some English.
Most other tourists told me that I am actually lucky that I neither speak Portuguese nor Spanish. They explained that I have a good chance to survive because those girls all lie. LOL.
But it can get quiet boring after a while if there is not much to say.
I really started to miss the funny Thai-English conversations.
Later on I met a nurse at the beach of Ipanema whith whom a talked a bit. She gave me her phone number (i never called) and some info on Brazil’s best beaches which however were all a bit too far away for me, closest being 3-4 hours away from Rio.

She wrote it on a cute Miss Kitty sheet :
1. Saoluis do Maranhao
2. Lencois Miara Nhense
3. Ceara Jericoacoara
4. Natal Buzios

brazil_beaches_globalnanpa
I checked out many Termas, only to name a few : 4X4, L’uomo, Centaurus, Barbarellas, Solarium, Rio Antigo, Monte Carlo.
My favorite one was L’uomo, followed by 4X4.

Centaurus is the most expensive one but I didn’t enjoy it there. Around 70 girls work there and I didn’t see that there were more pretty girls than at 4X4. Termas are mostly closed Saturday and Sunday’s (!!!), only Termas L’uomo is open every day. Most Termas open around 4pm and I recommend to arrive early, because you probably want to have a fresh pussy in the beginning.

Plan your day like the following : Hang out at the beach around 12-2 pm, go to the Termas from 4pm till 8pm and go to the restaurant at 9-10pm and then finalize the night with clubbing from starting midnight.

Termas L’uomo has around 60 girls, the staff is very friendly, rooms are clean, the music is good and the girls aren’t pushy.
A thing that totally surprised me in the Termas that the girls are not there for selling drinks like in the bars in SEA. They don’t get commissions for drinks, so they will mostly not bother you with drinks. They only make money with sex which gets sold often in the Termas. Entrance at L’uomo is 60 Real, a 40 minute session costs 140 real, 1 hour 210 Real. A basic room costs 60 real, a suite 90 Real. They even have free food in the chill-out room. They are located inside a shopping mall for antiques on the first flor, next to S Campos Metro station. I had some trouble finding it in the beggining, walking all around on the first flor. Simply ask someone on the first flor, they will know.

Quatro por Quatro (4X4) is the biggest and oldest Termas in Rio, existing since 15 years. It is located in Centro, the business district, on R. Buenos Aires, 44.
Thesy have 150 girls, 70 staff people, 50 rooms, 50% international customers, hell they even have their own hairdressers for the girls. When entering this place it feels like a mini-world, I felt a bit lost at first.
I spoke with Vitoz there, the son of the owner who is in his mid 30s. They are a Portuguese family. They have an interest in selling the place under the right circumstances. They would most likely keep the place (rooms), but you would buy the name, the girls and staff and have to move the location. If you have a serious interest, please contact me (info(at)globalnanpa.com) and I will forward suitable candidates. By the way I will be for 4 days in Portugal in September.
I have the feeling that a lot people are leaving the old-fashioned sex business and are getting more into entertainment (selling memberships, entrances, drinks and food) or they switch into drugs or guns/armor where the margins are higher.
I still think the sex business is very attractive : it provides you with a steady cash flow, the risk is not that high and I think a place like 4X4 could be very profitable, no police needs to get paid (bribes) in Rio too like you are forced to do in Thailand and Philippines. Get a German hardcore manager over there, crush the cost structure and reorganize things more efficient. It is much more easy for a European to get a work permit in Brazil than it would be for Thailand.
Far too many people work at 4X4, lay off some staff, let those bundas get back to the customers faster and not letting them chat 1 hour with friends after a session, redesign the boite (the meeting place of customers and girls) and sell more drinks by rearranging the bars and having staff walking around taking drink orders all the time. There are lots of ways to make a cash cow of 4X4. The girls look great without doubt anyway. That place has a lot of potential.

The energy level and vibe in the boite of 4X4 and L’uomo was the best experience for me in Rio above all. I wish I would have been allowed to shoot video there but didn’t got permission.
In Asia the men are more relaxed about going to bargirls. In Rio, even Taxi drivers warned me that prostitutes work there. The whole church/religion shit is still very strong in Latin America that is why I often had to be cautious with my camcorder and could not use it as often as I did in Asia.

Around 6pm the girls in the boite go bumping and grinding. Damn, you got some fat bunda directly in front of you. No fucking poles like in the gogo bars in SEA. I only felt very uncomfortable in the bathrobe which is mandatory to wear. I feel much better in my jeans where I don’t feel so unprotected. I think the bathrobe thing is a major issue for newbie international customers. Of course it shall relax the place, but I think I will never feel comfortable with it. You only have 1 small pocket, the rest you keep in the locker. 4X4 and L’uomo feel safe, but at Centaurus for example I heard that they only have 3 different keys for 100 lockers ! Don’t take valuables with you, I also don’t like credit card payments, so it is only cash for me. It was quiet the hassle for me with the bathrobe, the key around my wrist, a camera almost falling out of my pocket and cash money stuffed inside.
Other than that, the vibe in the boite was just incredible and when that place really starts shacking, the heat is on. Only Blok M in Jakarta, maybe upstairs at D’s can keep up with that raunchy, energy-driven atmosphere. It is totally gangsta shit. But that bunda you will only find in Latin America and it is worth to make it out there for maybe 5 days to find out if you like it.
4X4 got 2 boites but the main boite is too small. It is hard to get a place to sit after 6pm and that sucks. Walking through the mass, maybe even with a hard-on in the bathrobe isn’t cool. They really should reconstruct the main boite. The boite at L’uomo is better and you have more space which is not so overcrowded with people.
How you have to imagine a Termas being a frequent SEA traveller ? Difficult to explain, I think Poseidon Entertainment Complex on Ratchadapisek in Bangkok comes closest to it. It is a place with all sorts of body pleasure programs. The biggest difference is that you walk around in bathrobes and there is no fishbowl or poles. The girls sit/walk around inside a let’s say an all-around large danceflor.

I surprisingly met an executive from a Nikkei listed company in a sauna of 4X4. It was his first time there too and he also told me about his bathrobe problems. I think for getting more international customers the Termas might really have to abandon the bathrobes.
Also spoke with a gentleman from France there.

Bangkok clearly is the sex capital of the world. Sex is jumping into your face there everywhere. In Rio it is much more mild. The people in Rio are just very open with their sexuality and you see them all showing off their bodies at the beach only covering as much as neccessary. They are proud of their bodies and not embarrassed about it like it is the case in most Asian countries.
The girls won’t cover their bodies in towels, like all, really all Asian girls do it when coming out of the shower and walking towards the bed. You also will get some super-hot Portuguese trash talk during sex. A few words I remember, probably I write them wrong : Da gusta, ei bellissima, da fadul, ei kashow. Watch some Brazilian porn and you learn the words pretty quick. A Brazilian girls moans during sex, whereas Japanese girls are forced to cry during sex from their facial expressions it seems. LOL.

Brazil is the world’s second largest plastic surgery market after the USA, Korea placing 3rd. Some of the world’s finest beauty surgery doctors have their clinic in Rio or Sao Paulo.
It does not surprise me. People in Brazil are crazy about looks, working out and showing off with their bodies. For the professional career good looks probably have there the same importance as the curriculum vitae/resume itself.

Brazilian chicks are not as money focused as Thai girls and look for a good time as well. The chicas might quote lower rates if they enjoyed themselves well, however the standard rates are much higher than in Asia. The take out rates for the best looking ones of the Termas are around 500 to 700 real ! A Thai girl would never lower her pre-promised rate. Thais actually often prefer boring sessions because they regard it as less hard work and less energy investment for themselves. Yep, the Thais are the better business girls.

Club Help is always a  sure bet in case you could not find anything for the night before. The rates for the best girls range between 200 to 300 Real. It is a bit like Angel’s disco - the Nana car park equivalent of BKK. The place of full of prostitutes but the quality isn’t that bad. I have to say I had a positive surprise there because I was expecting some really low and poor quality shit. If all things fail before, you can always have some fun at Help, Copacabana beach, Avenue Atlantica.

I met a girl N. who is often working/living in Madrid, Spain. She just came to Rio 2 days ago when I met her and in May she comes back to Europe for 3 months.

I was actually hoping not to like Rio, but I „sadly“ did like it quiet a bit.
I will return, but not so soon. First I focus again on SEA : Thailand, Indonesia and Philippines.
I will come back when a sweet Asian cutie breaks my heart or pisses me off. Then I will threaten her with taking a break from Asian girls to vaccinate Brazilian bunda again.
I have to come back anyway. There is still a lot of work for me to be done in big bunda land (BBL). But the land of smiles (LOS) comes first again.

Funny thing in the Termas is that the guys don’t mind seeing their chick they fucked an hour ago with the next customer in the boite right afterwards. Asian girls always try to hide the fact that they jump into bed with the next right after you are gone. Latinas won’t do that and the guys are cool with it.
Competition is also high among good-looking guys in Brazil and people are crazy about working out and doing sports. The average age of people in the Termas I would estimate at late 30s.
In the locker/dressing room some people recognized my global nanpa shirt and were cheering and giving me high 5s.

favela

I would like to tell you the real reason why Japanese guys often dont like foreigners in their country (Japanese readers please don’t hate me for it). They are afraid that you stretch out their girls pussies and that it puts sexual pressure on them afterwards. They dont want that competition. Moreover they dont want to feel any attempts of cultural change and of course they also don’t want STDs spreading within Japan. The drug dealing and gambling shall be under strict japanese control. In SEA the main players in this market are foreigners, in Latin America as well. Japan is super-safe, yes if you don’t fuck with the wrong people. Tell me why I never got real problems in SEA or Latin America, but why I needed my embassy’s help in super-safe Tokyo ? You guessed right, some people got really afraid of me there.
Also think of why it took so long untill contraceptives were allowed to get sold in Japan ? In the western world, the sexual revolution started in the 60s-70s with it, before HIV arised in the mid 80s.
HIV by the way might be the biggest lie of modern society. Why they set up the lie : To make you afraid of what actually makes you human.
During my travels into the sex capitals of the world I could not find any evidence that HIV can get transmitted by heterosexual sex. It can get transmitted maybe by homosexual sex and drug (needle) abuse, but from what I saw and believe now not by heterosexual. I have talked to dozens of people in Pattaya and other places where people were living there for many years and they never saw or heard of a true story that HIV got transmitted during normal sex. So where do all those HIV numbers for SEA and Africa come from ? Think for yourself and don’t believe a statistic you have not faked yourself.
Maybe for Africa people want to have a better reason for the high death rates, it is easier to accept for the mind that they died of HIV instead of pure poverty/slavery,  right ?
What does HIV mean for an educated young male in the western world ? It means control of his dreams/mind, inflicting fear on a person to let him be afraid of his most natural behavior and letting those people explore their sexuality in virtual reality and not in the real world.
Back to Japan :
Schering-Bayer, the world’s largest producer of contraceptives, for whom I worked for a while, was not able to enter Japan before early 90s and the market is still far too small, they set strict limitations for marketing and they try to tell the young girls that it is bad taking them – better go for abortion then. It’s great !

What to say in conclusion about Brazil ? I had a good time – not outstanding, but like I expected I am much more fascinated of Asian cultures and I guess I simply  like Asian cuties more than Latina bundas.

club_stadium_jakarta_globalnanpa

„Normal“ clubbing places :

1.STADIUM, Jl. Hausann Wuruk No.3

Huge, legendary club. This place is very controversial, always full of people. I really enjoy the music and dark, gloomy atmosphere. It is like a cathedral for all “evil” minds. The owner also operates Malioboro Hotel. Stadium is an original : The world’s only place that is a club/disco, restaurant, short-time hotel all in one.

http://www.vimeo.com/6561089

2. MUSRO, Hotel Borobudur, Jalan Lapangan Banteng Selatan

Very cool, small-sized club. I wish it had more events and would be open more often.

http://www.vimeo.com/6562512

3. X2, Plaza Senyan, 4th flor

The biggest clubbing place in Jakarta, always packed with people. A bit too large for me and it has nothing that really dazzles me. Still always worth a visit for some special events. It is also a good place for nanpa with normal girls.

4. BARCODE, Le Codefin, rooftop, Jalan Kemang Raya 8

People you encounter in Kemang are extremely friendly. Place is owned by DJ Riri, Indonesia’s most famous one. Interesting place, but far away when staying near the Welcome Monument.

5. DRAGONFLY, Graha BIP

The most stylish club of Jakarta. Women dress to kill and plenty of international guests. People could be friendlier though.

6. RED SQUARE, Arcadia Plaza, Senayan complex

Popular expat club, moved upstairs. Some Bats/CJs girls hang out there also. This place gets packed at weekends and it is not that big actually, around 350 sm.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ln-mK-VzaiY

7. Blowfish, Wisma Mulia, Gatot Subroto

Next to Dragonfly and had the same interior designer; Ismaya Group. Both places are stylish, it depends on your taste. Blowfish also exists in Surabaya where I like it more.

Hotel bars :

1. MO Bar, Mandarin Oriental

Most classy hotel bar. Ladies night is sweet, it can get surprisingly crowded at special events. Managed by a cool German guy.

2. BURGUNDY, Grand Hyatt Hotel

Small-sized but stylish place. Good thing about the Grand Hyatt is that it is very established and you always meet interesting people.

3. BATS, Shangri-la Hotel

Larger bar with live music and many freelancers. Feels like CM2 in BKK.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4n1GJJawx4

4. CJs, Mulia Hotel

A bit lower class than the other three, but more easy-going and relaxed atmosphere.

Bargirl places :

1. TOP GUN, BLOK M

Best bar on Blok M. Quite large, mostly around 50 girls, good pool tables and often live music.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkN3jJUJYX8

2. MY BAR, Blok M

Used to be my favorite place at Blok M in the beginning.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDwZk-4B7h4

3. D’s, Blok M

Upstairs at D’s got sadly closed now, but the place is still fun.

This list shall not be seen as a complete guide to the SEA gogo scene. I only list a few places I recently visited and that I find worth mentioning. I will extend this list from time to time.

I believe that describing gogo bars in words does not make much sense except giving a bit of background information. You mostly have to check out the places yourself and find out if you like it or not. I can only give you a first idea what might be a good spot and then you have to see if that could be a place to visit or not.

beauty_surgery.jpg

For this posting I used several internet sources and borrowed certain passages of other articles.

Plastic surgery is booming throughout Asia and became a huge market. In Korea, surgeons estimate that 10% of all adults have had some sort of surgical „upgrade“.

In Thailand a real plastic surgery tourism got established and in Japan the top clinics make revenues of over $100 million each year with these operations.

China has a lot of unlicensed beauty-science centers, especially in Shenzen the danger is big when discount prices are offered. A large amount of lawsuits also got filed in Shenzen against those surgeons.

Asians are asking their surgeons for wider eyes, longer noses and bigger breasts, features not typical of the race. The most popular procedure in Asia is a form of blepharoplasty, in which a crease is created above the eye by scalpel or by needle and thread.

Westerners use botox to diminish wrinkles, while in Korea, Japan and Taiwan, botox is injected into wide cheeks so the muscle will atrophy and the cheeks will shrink. In China, Korea and Indonesia, where virginity is highly prized, young women go in for hymen reconstruction in time for their wedding night.

In Thailand, with its sizable population of ladyboys a big industry has developed to provide male-to-female sex-change operations.

For Chinese people, surgically enhanced beauty is both a way to display wealth and a tool with which to attain it.

In Thailand, even the government has recognized the money-making potential of plastic surgery. The Tourism Authority of Thailand helps promote institutions like the Bumrungrad Hospital to foreigners, who make up one-third of its patients. The 12-story, $90 million hospital is like a five-star, round-the-clock plastic surgery factory. There’s a Starbucks in the lobby, high-speed Internet connection for the patients and room service.

In the mid-’70s, Thailand had only 10 plastic surgeons, so locals tended to go abroad to Japan or Singapore for cosmetic help. Today, it is the reverse, and Thailand has become a surgical hub. Travel agencies offering plastic surgery tours have packages including airfare, hotel, sightseeing and maybe a boob or nose job. The price level too is what attracts foreign patients, mainly from Japan and China.

Kawinna Suwanpradeep, a former soap opera star in Thailand wasn’t scared of plastic surgery. When Yanhee Hospital, a Bangkok plastic surgery center, offered her free liposuction in return for a public endorsement, she did not hesitate.

She was told she would be able to go home the same day as the operation. After the bandages were removed, she noticed wavy patches and scars. The doctor told her they would disappear in a few months, but when they still hadn’t healed a year later Suwanpradeep went to court. The hospital denies responsibility. Disgusted with her courthouse experience, Suwanpradeep started to study law. Now she is a poster girl for a plastic surgery disaster.

Thailand :

1. Bumrungrad

2. Preecha Aesthetic Institute (PAI)

3. NEO plastic surgery center

4. The Samui Clinic

5. Phuket Plastic Surgery

Japan :

1. Plaza Plastic Surgery

China :

1. Shanghai ConBio plastic and laser surgery hospital

2. Shenzen Fuhua Hospital

Korea :

1. IAAN cosmetic plastic surgery clinic

2. Dream plastic surgery clinic

1. Cosmetic plastic surgery Philippines

2. Plastic surgery Manila

oriental_hotel_bkk_authors_lounge_globalnanpa

I only review a small selection of hotels I recently stayed at. Keep looking for updates. I will update this list several times per year.
Bangkok :

1. FOUR SEASONS HOTEL, 155 Ratchadamri Road

Inner city located medium sized top-notch hotel. A lot of the rooms have recently undergone renovations. If you prefer not to stay at the riverside and moreover if you don’t like the Sukhumvit area (anymore), Ratchadamri Road is the place to be. Excellent inner city location, great service and staff, beautiful designed rooms and  charming, modern traditional Thai atmosphere.

http://www.vimeo.com/6870076

2. PENINSULA, 333 Charoennakorn Road, Riverside

Best luxury hotel at the riverside. I will update after a stay there.

http://www.vimeo.com/13603815

3. SHANGRI-LA, 89 Soi Wat Suan Plu, Riverside

Best prive/value hotel at the riverside. The whole complex became really huge, the new Krung Thep wing is spectacular and offers beautiful rooms with amazing views. Staff is super-friendly, spa and swimming pool are among the best in the city.

http://www.vimeo.com/8513047

4. MANDARIN ORIENTAL, 48 Oriental Avenue, Riverside

The most famous and one of the most expensive hotels in Bangkok. I tried to figure out what makes this place so famous : It’s the service and prestige, not the rooms, restaurants or other facilities. They employ an immense number of staff considering the amount of guests, you even get your own butler. Everyone I met from the hotel was super-friendly and the room was excellent too. The location can be a big obstacle depending on what you are planning to do. A place only for wealthy, respectful holiday makers and if for business then for meetings/conferences in that area only. The type of people I met at the swimming pool were not my cup of tea and that’s the place were you really get to know the hotel guests.

http://www.vimeo.com/8507191

5. DREAM HOTEL, Sukhumvit Soi 15

A very stylish hotel. The colors used look really cool and when switching on the blue light bulbs in your room, you really might feel like in a surreal dream. Interesting contempory design mixed with traditional art. They have everything most people would ask for : good location, stylish room, comfortable bed, big plasma TV,  free Wifi, friendly staff and it is not too expensive. They now have an additional building which is a bit more quiet but not as optimal located like the old building at the corner and without a bar. The new building has 2 additional dream suites. The Dream Hotel often organizes special events and they are an attractive location for lots of media guys to host parts of their show there. New manager is Italian Mr. Fabiano, very friendly guy.

http://www.vimeo.com/5352115

6. MAC BOUTIQUE SUITES, Sukhumvit Soi 7

Excellent price/value deal. You can get a brand-new, very nice equipped junior suite for only around 3000 Baht per day. If you want to save money, live comfortable and want to be located in the centre of naughty BKK life, this hotel is a good option. They only have 62 rooms, so I guess they mostly will be fully booked during high season.

http://www.vimeo.com/6856357

7. GRAND MAJESTIC HOTEL, Sukhumvit Soi 2

This hotel is extremely popular among sex tourists. It is located very close to Nana Plaza, Soi 4. The price/value is excellent, staff is friendly and the rooms are fine. My overall experience was very good.

http://www.vimeo.com/6844651

8. PRESIDENT SOLITAIRE, Sukhumvit Soi 11

The location Sukhumvit Soi 11 is good, pretty close to all kinds of action on Sukhumvit. Bed Supperclub and St. Moritz are close too. The Ananda Spa next to it is part of the hotel. A lot of European tourists stay in general in hotels on Sukhumvit Soi 11. The room interior of the President Solitaire is nice, thai style and the marble bathroom fits to the design.

http://www.vimeo.com/2431348

9. MADUZI HOTEL, Asoke station

One of the most secluded and safest inner city boutique hotels in BKK. Gates are always closed, guests by invitation only. Interior is spectacular, very lovely items which look quiet expensive. Therapeutic bed/matrace, Bose sound system, interesting paintings. They have an excellent french chef too. Staff feels like a family managed hotel, very professional behavior and dresses. Expensive hotel and taxi drivers always have difficulties finding and entering it.

http://www.vimeo.com/2430938

10. CITI CHIC BOUTIQUE SUITES, Sukhumvit Soi 13

Excellent price/value hotel. A veranda room only costs around 2500 Baht. The hotel is located between Dream (Sukh. 15) and President Solitaire (Sukh. 11) and it is a lot cheaper. The interior is nice, chic and an amazing deal for the money. But you get what you pay for - negative remarks : the water is not getting really hot and I like it hot. Using the nice looking bathtub was out of the question because the temperature wasn’t what i like. Noises are another problem. On the veranda (those 3 rooms are all ground flor) you can hear your neighbors and if someone above you takes a shower (thanks when doing that at 3 am), you can hear it as well but it is not very loud, so don’t get frightened.

http://www.vimeo.com/2432330

11. ROYAL PRESIDENT APARTMENTS, Sukhumvit Soi 15

This serviced apartment place is behind the Dream hotel. The rooms have a large kitchen and living room. There is a little shop next to it where you can buy the things for your refrigerator.
Disadvantage is that it looks older and the interior is a bit worn out. Still, don’t get me wrong, it is a good place to stay. The male staff here is very friendly.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REHLXQXUxOU

12. ASCOTT, 187 South Sathorn Road

Those serviced apartments are ideal for people who are more focused on the Sathorn area or are working in that business district. The interior of the apartment is beautiful, the rooms are huge, the bathroom is excellent. However the location is simply a problem if you plan to be more active outside the Sathorn area.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JuX4LU56d1w

13. JW MARRIOTT, Sukhumvit Soi 2

This hotel is next to Nana Entertainment Plaza (NEP). If your room is on the “right” (or maybe wrong side for you ? ) side of the hotel, you can look down on Nana plaza and the infamous Nana parking lot / Nana hotel. The hotel has nothing I feel attached to. The staff isn’t that friendly and tried to screw me several times.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7l0jYnAhxw

Pattaya :

1. DUSIT D2, Second Road

Currently the worlds most ultimate pimpin crib. THE main reason for me to visit Pattaya again, although Angeles City already is a lot better for pimpin. AC is simply 5 to 10 years away from being able to create such a place. The design, materials, swimming pool, restaurant, spa and whole standard, especially the D’ king suite, completely knocks out Bangkok’s Dream Hotel suite. Manager (”guru”) is Italian Mr. Paolo Randone : a very friendly and style-focused guy.

http://www.vimeo.com/8304673

2. PATTAYA BAY RESORT, Second Road, Soi 15, behind shopping mall The Avenue

Excellent price/value relation, friendly staff, nice equipped rooms. Only negative thing is that the location is a bit far away from the walking street action but they offer a free shuttle service.

http://www.vimeo.com/2321031

3. MARRIOTT, 218 M. 10 Beach Road

The best thing about the Marriott is its ideal location next to Walking Street and shopping malls. The rooms are rather small and older looking. It is quiet expensive when you compare that with other places which don’t look worse. Staff was quite unfriendly, maybe I simply didn’t had luck there. But location is really important in Pattaya and that speaks for the Marriott.

4. GALAXY SUITES, Soi Diamond

I got a 50% discount there, so it was very cheap for me. The general rate already is cheap, but the price is also mainly the only good thing about it. Rooms are small, the doors and walls very thin and the safe very tiny. It is on Soi Diamond, over Heaven above agogo. At least the gogo is a good one. I won’t stay there again.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZkrZdtU9NA

Koh Samui :

1. FOUR SEASONS, 219 Moo 5, Angthong

Best place to stay on Koh Samui but secluded and far away from all sorts of other activities on Koh Samui. After having had that place in direct comparison to the Shangri-la Boracay, the Shangri-la is playing in a total different, much much higher league. The whole island Koh Samui cannot compete with Boracay, although being larger and offering a broader selection of activites.

http://www.vimeo.com/8609480

2. CHAWENG REGENT, Chaweng beach

Well located hotel at Chaweng were most of the action is happening. The hotel is ok for what you pay and staff is friendly too.

http://www.vimeo.com/8600363

3. CENTRAL SAMUI VILLAGE, Butterfly Gardens

The location is very isolated. I made a big mistake staying there. Their partner hotel at Chaweng beach is good, but the one at the Butterfly garden is simply too far away if you plan to go to the busier beach areas like Chaweng and Lamai beach where you also find the best restaurants, massage places. The little villas at Samui village were still fine though.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeAhfWWJoHo

Chiang Mai :

1. CHEDI HOTEL, 123 Charoen Prathet Road

This hotel belongs to the GHM group who are known for their extravagant designs.
It is difficult to explain this hotel in words, you have to see and experience it yourself. The Four Seasons in comparison there is very secluded, while the Chedi lies at the river at an ideal location to go out to the city centre. It depends on what you plan for doing in Chiang Mai.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOtZtFDrMdM
Other good hotels close to the Chedi are the YAANG COME VILLAGE, the DUSIT D2 or the new SHANGRI-LA hotel. The DHARA DEVI (MANDARIN ORIENTAL) and the FOUR SEASONS are more secluded and higher priced but absolutely spectacular.

2. VIANGBUA MANSION, 3/1 Viangbua Rd., Chang Puek

If you like a good price/value apartment, this is a recommendable place. However the location is not so close to the city centre.
You can get rooms for $22 ! Excellent place for longer stays.

Phuket :

1. CLUB BAMBOO, 247 Nanai Road, Patong Beach

This small boutique resort lies on the hill close to Patong beach where you can enjoy many activities. If you like it quiet and secluded – avoid Patong beach. The bungalows are satisfying and the staff is very friendly. Bangla road is where the nightlife action is going on. I never was a big fan of Phuket. I don’t understand how it became the No.2 vacation spot of Thailand : maybe it was the international airport and movies like “The Beach”….

Hua Hin :

1. AKA RESORT, Moo 7, Baan Nhang Hiang, Hin Lek Fai

One of the Top 3 resorts currently in Hua Hin. Chiva Som in comparison is ridiculous expensive and AKA is clearly the better deal for money. The villas are really nice, quiet and perfect for a few relaxing days. The outdoor spa is a good one too. More than 50% of the guests are German. Hua Hin is full of Germans in general, but for me the place is worth at best a 3-day-long weekend visit.

http://www.vimeo.com/2443620

Koh Chang :

1. BARALI RESORT, Klong Prao Beach

For me personally it is the most lovely located resort on this island. I like the Klong Prao beach. Koh Chang is more quiet than Samui in general. The island has no airport, you have to fly over Trat and then take the ferry which makes it more stressful than hitting Samui. The villas at the resort are fine but not that new anymore, staff is friendly and price level reasonable. The design of the whole complex is beautiful.

poseidon_globalnanpa1

Like usual I only portray a small selection of the spa’s and massage parlors I recently visited and that I find worth mentioning. I will update this list several times per year.

Spa’s :

1. LET’S RELAX (Blooming Spa) on Sukhumvit , 77 Sukhumvit Soi 39
1. LET’S RELAX (Blooming Spa) Rachadapisek , 6th flor Roongrojthanukul buildg.

Excellent price/value inner city day spa, an interesting menu card and very qualified massage therapists. They have several spas in Thailand, also in Pattaya, Chiang Mai and on Phuket.

http://www.vimeo.com/2709040

2. POTALAI , 28 Soi Yothimpattana 3, Praditmanuthum Rd, Klongchan

Beautiful destination spa, the traditional thai style interior is amazing and all of their staff have prestigious massage certificates. It is more upscale priced and a bit further away. Bring some time to get here and take a multi-hour package to fully enjoy this place. Potalai is owned by a rich Thai family. They are in the process to set up a new holistic healing facility close to their main building.

http://www.vimeo.com/2707038

3. DEVARANA SPA, Dusit Thani Hotel, 946 Rama 4 Rd.

Famous, spacious spa. Very beautiful design and extremely friendly and qualified staff.

http://www.vimeo.com/8848997

4. THE ORIENTAL SPA, Mandarin Oriental Hotel, 48 Oriental Aveneue, Riverside

They have fourteen rooms and a staff of about fifteen which speaks for the high usage/frequence of such an exclusive and high priced spa. Currently they employ 10 massage therapists who all received a 3 months starting training.

http://www.vimeo.com/8507191

5. CHI SPA , Shangri-la hotel, 89 Soi Wat Suan Plu, New Road, Bangrak

I am a big fan of the Chi Spa group in general. They do rigorous trainings with their staff and I love the designs.

http://www.vimeo.com/8513047

6. THE SPA, Four Seasons Hotel, 155 Rajadamri Road

Small but beautiful and well managed boutique spa. A bit expensive.

http://www.vimeo.com/8510689

7. MANDARA SPA , Marriott hotel, 257/1-3 Charoen Nakhon Rd.

Good inner city hotel spa. Mandara Spa is probably the biggest hotel spa group worldwide. It belongs to Steiner Leisure.

8. ANANDA SPA, Sukhumvit Soi 11

Next to the President Solitaire. Good spa for a reasonable price, considering that it is a hotel spa and focusing on foreigners.

http://www.vimeo.com/2709752

9. HEALTHLAND&SPA, 120 North Sathorn Rd, Silom

Many Thai locals go there. Excellent price/value deal. This spa group is very successful and they have a few spa across Thailand. Make appointments, otherwise you might have to wait some time.

10. AVATAR SPA, Sukhumvit Soi 15

Inside of the Dream hotel. Too expensive for what gets offered.

http://www.vimeo.com/2709579

Massage parlors (dirty) :

1. POSEIDON ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX, Ratchadapisek Rd.

3rd flor is the model flor, 2nd flor they have a fishbowl. You usually pay for 90min sessions, the price varies depending on the girl. They have a large in-room bathtub. The interior of the rooms is a bit disappointing and not what you expect when you compare it with the much better looking entry and model flor. Caesar’s is also on the street, but I like Poseidon more. This most famous upscale massage parlor place is managed by Mr. Anucha. According to him 120 girls are currently working for the place.

2. BKK TEEN MASSAGE, Sukhumvit Soi 33

Upscale massage parlor, the girls look quiet good considering the average MP standard. They currently have 3 parlors with about 20 girls each.

http://www.vimeo.com/2953454

3. ANNIE’S massage, between Sukhumvit Soi 4 and Soi 2 (near Rajah hotel)

They have a fishbowl where you can choose. Maybe 40 girls working there. Girls and rooms are in a poor condition but it is cheap.

Philippines hotel guide : Manila, Angeles City, Boracay

1 Star2 Stars3 Stars4 Stars5 Stars (1 votes, average: 5 out of 5)

by globalnanpa in Hotels, Lists&Ratings

Here I shortly review a few of the hotels I recently stayed at.
These are mostly high-end, luxury hotels. You will be able to stay in that area for a tiny fraction of those price levels if you like to.

Manila :

1. MAKATI SHANGRI-LA HOTEL, Ayala Avenue Corner Makati Avenue, Makati City

Optimal location, easy access to Glorietta mall and Greenbelt. Makati is the business district and the wealthiest area of the Philippines. The price level here is very high compared to the other parts of Manila.  Interior of the room and the service is excellent as usual in the Shangri-la. Their challenger is the Peninsula and the Dusit Thani.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiwGPUKb8

2. EDSA SHANGRI-LA HOTEL, Ortigas Center

Also a good Shangri-la, a lot cheaper in price. I prefer to stay in Makati City I have to admit. The interior also looks a bit older here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iW12xyI4F8A

Angeles City :

1. LEWIS GRAND HOTEL

I highly recommend this hotel, excellent price/value deal. Currently my favorite hotel in AC. The design is simple and pure, the staff is mostly helpful and professional. LGH feels like the Shangri-la of Angeles City. The pool is a good one as well. They created the whole place very green with palm trees and the whole dirt/waste around in AC is not visible from the hotel.

http://www.vimeo.com/2336269

2. PACIFIC BREEZE HOTEL

Excellent price/value hotel with an ideal location close to the middle of Fields Avenue. Daily room rates range from $40 to $90. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Water pressure and cleanliness of the water is a general problem in AC.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Zktu67tyQ

3. ANGELES BEACH CLUB (ABC) HOTEL

Quite luxurious and an expensive hotel for AC. I was very satisfied with my stay there. They are the first hotel in the Philippines to offer helicopter transports and trips. Owner Gerard is known for his innovative events.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thoJPONnLbg

Boracay :

1. SHANGRI-LA, north-west end

THE most beautiful beach resort I ever saw in my entire life. This resort is like a dream come true. I was wondering how it is possible to charge more than double the price for a hotel than the second most exclusive place on Boracay but when I checked out the entire complex, I realized what degree of luxury they have created there. It is the most beautiful beach resort that currently exists on this planet in my eyes, the problem is that I am actually not a beach person. You can stay at more expensive places on the Maledives or on Hawaii but you won’t be getting THAT class. It probably even beats the Amanpulo close to Palawan Islands because it is brand-new. Staff is fantastic. The CHI spa is very remarkable as well. Lots of guests from China are there. The only Filipino people who can afford it are somehow connected with the government (hello corruption…).

http://www.globalnanpa.com/blog/?p=37

2. REGENCY HOTEL

Very central located hotel, it also has the broadest beachfront of all hotels. Rooms are ok for this standard. The service staff wasn’t friendly at all to me - my youtube video might be the reason for it…Location is important on Boracay as walking along the whole beach can take you a long time and especially in the evening this is not fun. It really depends on what you look for. If you want it more isolated and luxurious, stay at the new Shangri-la in the north.
There are of course dozens of other good places to stay and a lot are only 1/3 of the Regency price. Boracay is a pretty established place already and price levels on this island are much higher than on other islands.
