shangri-la-boracay

Shangri-la Boracay opens its doors on March 2nd, Philippines
The Boracay resort has 183 rooms and 36 deluxe villas. The rooms feature ocean views from balconies, the villas got private pools and a whirlpool.
For March they offer deluxe rooms at a rate of 24000 Pesos per day : a new price/luxury dimension coming to Boracay !
Especially interesting is the 1350 square meter CHI spa. Boracay really doesn’t have superb massage/spa places yet. I am curious how the quality and design will be. Thailand and Indonesia in general certainly outperform Philippines in terms of spa/massage quality/skilled personal. The CHI spa group of the Shangri-la is one of the rare exceptions in the Philippines who might be able to keep up its high standard Asian-wide.
Boracay got more than 30 beaches, the longest/broadest and most well-known one is clearly „White Beach“. The Shangri-la is more secluded located at the beach in the north. If you like it secluded and luxurious, this hotel is for you.
I like it luxurious but I don’t like secluded locations, that’s why I will stay again at the Regency on my Boracay trip later this year which has the most central location on White Beach. Don’t underestimate the walking distances there, especially in the evening. However I will check out the Shangri-la and CHI spa of course. Last time I had been there in November 2007, I already took a closer look at the construction side.
With the opening of the Shangri-la on Boracay many things will change. Everyone knows it and they were big-time planning for it. It has advantages and disadvantages. Most locals are rather dissapointed. It means first of all that price levels will climb, a few small-type business operators will get pushed out of the market and the Shangri-la will use all its force to „clean up“ Boracay, making it more safe and transportation more reliable. I do cheer for the improvement of transportation, maybe lowering rip-offs and getting things handled more efficient, Thai-style touristic like.
I am personally not afraid of the price-level rise, which will happen without doubt. I am more worried of the kind of people, tourists coming to this place. If those boring usual Bali/Phuket family travellers go there, of course they will restructure the activities, restaurants and hotels for this new and affluent tourist group. The cheap flights with Korean Air to the Philippines already did a lot of „damage“ to the atmosphere of this place.
The hardcore travellers are more into places like Palawan Islands anyway and it could speed up the trend of the more frequent Philippines travellers to make it out there. I myself will check that area out in 2010. I however am not a big fan of too lonely places for a longer time, that’s why Boracay will most likely remain the most important island for me on the Philippines.
I am quiet sure that the Shangri-la Boracay will become a success long-term, although the price level is far above the rest of the current upper class resorts.

Herbal drug design/production : Global Nanpa is your pusher

methylphenidate-ritalin

This will be important for later, so I summarize quickly some legal and illegal drugs that are of importance in the psychotropics market :

Cocaine (Yayo) : Still very popular, prices dropped half since the start of the financial crisis. Production is painful and the drug makes people stupid.

Methamphetamine (Yaba): More powerful than amphetamine, gives people energy without getting tired or sleepy. If you don’t refill the pumped out energy
reserves later, your body will get screwed.

Heroine : Highly addictive and very dangerous. Colombia took control of that shit. Single dosage may contain 100 mg of powder.

Rohypnol (Vitamin R) : Flunitrazepam. Party/clubbing drug. Used against insomnia. One significant effect is anterograde amnesia. New tablets from Roche use a dye, to be visible when being put into drinks. Drug is legally sold in Latin America. A very interesting drug. Price ranges from $2 to $10 per unit.

MDMA (XTC/Ecstasy): Designer drug, used at clubs/parties, gives energy, feel good drug, lets people drift away. Problems are dehydration and other nasty stuff when tablets get punched with toxic substances. Also sometimes in combination with coffeine or ketamine and then more dangerous. XTC is an illegal variation of mescaline and amphetamine, a chemical analogue so to say.

Methylphenidate (Ritalin) : Similar effects as cocaine or amphetamine but doesn’t make people stupid. Also known as a concentration/brain enhancer drug. Used against ADHD among adolescents and young adults. Tablets can get crushed into powder and can get sniffed. Drug got patented in 1954 by Ciba (now Novartis). Extremely interesting drug. Any expert on purification out there ?

Marijuana (Weed) : Most widely used illgeal drug. Starter drug. Mexico and Canada are main suppliers. THC makes people feel easy, free. Makes people stupid and silly. Not recommended.

Valium (V): Depressant like also Xanax. Sedates people, forgetting stress, relieves tension. Problems with hang-overs and addiction.

Ketamine ( Vitamin K) : Relieves tension and anxiety. Can cause flashbacks and block speech.

Nicotine (Tabacco) : Causes worldwide medical expenses of more than $150 billion/year ! Typical smoker takes 10 puffs on a cigarette that is 5 minutes lit. Biggest killer with over 400.000 deaths/year.

Opium : Alkaloids are mainly used such as morphine, codeine and thebaine.

Morphine : Most effective drug against pain. Uninteresting drug.

Mushrooms (Tryptamines): Hallucinogenic, relaxes. Dosage can vary and very unpredictable. Dangerous.

LSD (Acid ): Hallucinogenic. Very stupid drug and a thing of the past (hippies).

Alcohol : Legal depressant. Most widely abused legal substance.

synthesis_methylphenidate

Kiddie Dope (prescription drugs) is clearly the most interesting group, especially the stimulants like Ritalin and the depressants like Xanax and Rohypnol.

Next to psychotropics, lifestyle drugs is the most interesting area. The best thing about it is that those ones are mostly legal. I personally am only interested in legal business.

Sex drugs are a huge market. Believe it : Viagra is more lucrative than heroin. Everyone who is a bit smart would try to avoid the risk doing dangerous, highly illegal things and rather focus on lifestyle drugs (of course disrespecting intellectual property in this regard). 1 kilogramm of Viagra gets traded at 90.000 Euros  whereas production only costs 40 Euros. Nothing, really nothing comes close to that : Weapon/armor trade has lower margins, is very dangerous and complicated. Moreover you must have an interest in continueing war which sucks.

For comparison : 1 kilogram of heroin costs 1300 Euros in production and can get sold between 30.000 Euros to 50.000 Euros. Moreover the production is a time-consuming and painful process. You see the market shift…

I would strongly recommend to focus on Cialis (Tadalafil) and not Viagra, half-time is much longer (17 hours compared with 4 hours of Viagra and Levitra) and the drug is more advanced. Keep an eye on those.

generation_rx

I am working on a new tablet (in my non-existing free time), on something LEGAL (!), herbal, which could be best described as a mixture between : Alcohol+Cialis+Red Bull.

Global Happy Pills. We will see how that goes…
