Bangkok : Ode to the City of Angels

Bangkok, i really love this city. It almost feels like home now, having travelled a lot to this city in the last 4 years.
Bangkok simply has everything combined in 1 big city. It is not  the top place in many categories but everything combined makes it ideal. Bangkok and Jakarta are clearly my favorite cities in SEA; both are very different and Jakarta is more difficult to explore and to understand.

Bangkok is straight in your face and I like just walking around everywhere.
I love the spas, hotels, restaurants, clubs/bars, shopping places.

The go-go scene in Bangkok is more and more breaking away though.
Nana Plaza is dead, even the Rainbow bars lost their talent who now work mostly in Soi Cowboy bars. My favorite ones there are Baccara (managed by the German Patrick since 4 years), Shark and Tilac. Nevertheless if you only look for the gogo experience, I think going to Pattaya is the better bet as Soi Cowboy alone is too small and too seperated from a vacation resort feeling that you have in Pattaya.
Soi Cowboy is good to visit if you are in Bangkok for a few days and need some good short-time fun without hassles and emotional problems.
Patpong you can forget and it is a rip-off. Sukhumvit Soi 33 are more hostess bars and not really that exciting.
Sukhumvit Soi 4, 5, 7, 8, 11 are fun just to watch the people, have a beer, playing some pool and relaxing in a friendly open place. Philippines and Indonesia do not have anything like this which could feel the same. Thailand is simply the best for friendly, open, public party/chill out zones.

Bangkok got it all like said before. Pattaya is pussy heaven for a short time but Bangkok is a real cosmopolitain city where you can do lots of things.
Chiang Mai and Hua Hin are really boring in comparison. Islands/beach places like Koh Samui or Koh Chang (i don’t like Phuket that much) are good for a few days but for me I don’t like to stick more than 3 days in a row on those islands anymore whereas I have no problem spending 10 days in a row in Bangkok without getting bored.
For beaches I rather would go to the Philippines.
Whenever I check in again at the Dream Hotel where I often stay, I feel like home. I was checking out quiet a lot BKK hotels this time like Citi Chic Hotel (good budget hotel), Maduzi (good expensive boutique hotel) and President Solitaire (well located, medium prized hotel).
There are still a few hotels in BKK I haven’t checked out yet and that I have on a list.

I also worked a bit on my spa/massage parlor guide and added new video links of the spas I have in the list, I also updated the bar/club guide.
I actually have to admit honestly that you can also get a really good foot or Thai massage at many small local massage parlors. They only cost you a fraction of the price but are not really that worse. But if you prefer a nice ambience and want to spend more time in the spa with a real multi-hour treatment, then go for the great spas which are of course prized a lot higher.
Potalai is a fantastic destination spa, the best I have ever visited. It is owned by a rich Thai family. I got informed by the guest relation manager that they have plans to build a new place close there which focuses more on the medical field of wellness. An alternative therapy place to school medicine like Bumrungrad hospital so to say. I am curious, this might be really interesting.
Herbal drugs, natural cosmetics, ayurveda, TCM are also big trends in Europe and USA.
The best inner city day spa for me is Let’s Relax, Blooming spa. They have several spas in Thailand. I also visited them in Pattaya where they are located close to the Dusit Thani hotel and I tried them in Chiang Mai as well. I actually recruited together a pool of Thailand’s most skilled massage therapists. Who knows when that network will become handy again…

Although I am not that regular in Bangkok yet, I got a few club memberships on my recent trip.
I also got a club membership for WOW California, they have some nice fitness centers in Bangkok. I checked out the one in Siam Paragon which is cool (except the showers and dress room where a lot gays walk around…). They also have one on Ekkamai and other places.
Having a membership at the gentlemen club The Pent, I also got one now at The Forte, which is also owned by Mr. Oonsri from BKCoolclub.
What Jakarta really needs is a cool G-club (that would be something for the powerful police/military godfather who also also owns Stadium and Maliboro…I think I met him at Red Square last time together with that French guy – not sure ?). In terms of clubbing Jakarta has the same quality as Bangkok and I think it soon will be even better. The closing times in Bangkok of 2 am suck and the girls don’t have such a classy fashion awareness as Jakarta clubbing girls. Dragonfly is the shit in terms of fashion !

Jakarta got some prettty good hospitals too like Siloam hospitals, but I think the quality still isn’t as good as what you get offered at Bumrungrad for example or at Raffles in Singapore.
I stayed 2 days at Bumrungrad which cost around 40k Baht with private room, 24h nurse service and medical treatment. It really feels like a hotel. You can get snacks everywhere if you are able to walk around and they have a starbucks and little shops inside. The people were really friendly and helpful. I cannot say anything negative about it. While I was there, I had time to think and to self-reflect a lot of happenings that were going on so far.
One bargirl wrote on a Dream hotel sheet of paper (which I still have because it has value) one next morning : „You are so good and so stupid. What does it mean“ ?
Bargirls in general are very good judge of characters, they get to know all sorts of people and feel how they really are. I actually cannot remember which girl in Bangkok wrote it but it still makes me think.
Quiet a few memories got deleted because some nights simply got too crazy. Still I don’t regret anything.
But I got more and more unsure If I want to keep this butterfly life another 10 years. It starts to tire me. Of course I like sex with sexy girls you see in my videos but the romance part is more important for me.
There are still many other things in SEA waiting to get explored. These places offer so many fascinating things and I really like the people there.
Don’t get me wrong, I will always love nanpa and sexy girls, but it does not need to be neccessarily me who goes on the hunt all the time.
Some things are simply more important to me.

I visited Chulalongkorn University, Thailand’s No.1 university which is full of cute girls. I checked out the pharmaceutical sciences department there and talked to a person from the faculty there. It is really funny. On my trip in October 2007 from Bangkok to Manila I was sitting in the airplane next to the head (woman) of pharmaceutical sciences of Chiang Mai university. She was
preparing a presentation with her laptop and had 2 female Ph.D. students with her. It was fun to talk to her. I actually promised to visit them in Chiang Mai in November 2007 after Philippines but I didn’t do it because I was „stuck“ with a girl in Chiang Mai later, it was actually O. from the Koh Chang video.
On the recent BKK trip I dated a sales lady/uni girl and her sister. I bought crazy expensive (imported from Netherlands) roses and chocolate for them. We had dinner at Koi restaurant, maybe Bangkok’s best japanese restaurant and also one of the most expensive restaurants in general. The sushi chef there is fantastic. Even in Tokyo I did not eat better japanese than there.
Yep, Bangkok has it all….

Shopping at Siam Paragon is always fun. Bought some sunglasses for a girl there (she paid 50% of the bill). I broke 2 of my sunglasses during the trip, so I ended up buying 3 in total for myself.

I also bought some jeans and shirts at MBK. It is really cheap and the quality isn’t that bad. Since knowing the Thailand prices I am not willing anymore to spend so much money on clothes. Of course for the professional life I like the stuff you get at Narin Couture for example.
The girl helped me with the shopping whom I bought the sunglasses.
Thai girls are in general very outgoing and supportive in anything you plan in terms of activities with them. Try that with a western woman. By the way, she never asked for the sunglasses, it was my own idea.

Clubbing in BKK ? Hell yes, lots of fun this time. RCA, Sukh. Soi 11, Ekamai, Thong Lor, Lang Suan, etc. I shot a video at Club Muse, between Thonglor and Ekamai, which also gives some info about afterwards (after 2 am) clubs like Tunnel Club on Lang Suan, Sketch Club on Sukhumvit Soi 20, Talafan.
I also spent quiet a few nights in gentlemen clubs. Last time The Pent was my favorite spot, this time it was The Forte.
At Flix, RCA, I lost my second phone (gladly a crappy one which I had bought however the very same day ! um). I partied with a ladyboy there you see in my video. Luckily the next day I got a message from my brother that the manager of Route 66 has my mobile and I can pick it up next time. He must have looked through my call list and then called an unusual international number which contacted my brother. Damn, I never ever thought someone would be so honest to give it to the manager and this person moreover making the effort and calling an international number. Maybe the cute cat case for the mobile helped which I got from the Forte management as a present.

For me personally Ekkamai is currently the place to be to party with normal Thai people. A tragedy what just happened over new year party at Santika which was the biggest club on Ekkamai. I actually doubt that much safety measures will now follow in most of the other clubs. Some money will flow to buy the neccessary stamps to declare that everything is fine in all other clubs on Ekamai and Thong Lor.
Ratchadapisek is more and more becoming an interesting party spot and establishing itself as a  clear alternative to RCA and the Thonglor/Ekkamai gangs.

On one of my last nights I partied first at RCA, later went to Wireless Road, The Pent, where a girl at first promised to go with me to Tunnel club later, but she „disappeared“ after closing. This dissapointment at first, turned out to be a very surprising night. I went to Tunnel alone then. There was a big line in front of the club that night/morning. When I looked over the long line to the entrance someone saw me and asked if I am alone. If some bouncer asks you this question in the western world, it mostly means that you should go home now and should not make the line any longer. I replied „yes, I am“ and the response was „then please come upfront and go in“. No waiting, no entrance fee, I could get used to such a VIP treatment. At the club there seemed be a French model night. A few male and female models from France were there. The owner of Tunnel is French too. That night a met a very interesting creature of the night. She had a Switzerland passport, her dad is French, the mother is Thai and she behaved very western and did what she want. Usually I don’t like this in Bangkok, but after such a long SEA trip, i enjoyed how she seperated herself from the mass and appeared total special in the club. She told me that she is 25, but i knew she must be in her early 30s. President Solitare demands that girls give away their ID before entering the room, so I was able to check out her birthday. Maybe she thought I could not figure Thai birthday numbers ? She is 33, a hot MILF. She was driving a quiet new car, bringing us to the hotel, obviously had some own money. She was only using me for the sex. LOL.

Bangkok is super safe, you can go around by night everywhere without fearing anything. Most places in the USA are 10 times more dangerous. Jakarta and Manila are clearly not that safe. But if you  behave normal and try to avoid trouble, you should be fine mostly.
Nobody wants to see a tourist in trouble, it will affect tourism quickly and with it the whole economy. It is a golden rule not to piss off paying tourists in SEA. Never go to such places being low on cash. Once you don’t have money anymore, the smiles won’t be there anymore.
Don’t be a fool and believe that everyone likes you because of other reasons…

Special thanks go out to Mr. Thonganan, Film, Kae, Champloo, May, Nut, Ice, the Bumrungrad nurses, Chulalongkorn University (pharmaceutical sciences), , Mr. Budda , Escobar, Koi restaurant.
Take care friends. I owe you a lot.

Global Nanpa now exists 1 year. I try to transform it a bit. I want to keep the option open to still be able to have a steady girl-friend while doing this stuff.
Don’t worry : the trips, stories, guides and videos will continue.

Ok, here we have it :
Video, sound and editing are completely self-made.

Be careful not to go around with the camera in danger of being robbed. Do not react or kill you

hello please tell me where you met the girl in the video Bangkok: Ode to the City of Angels in the video for the session in 8:40 minutes?

I look forward as quickly as possible.

when writing about going to South America, it should be clear that Brazil is meant, or being part of it. Thanks for the advice that you might read somewhere, but I figured out that things are mostly very different from common opinion when you go out there and search for the truth yourself.
People like you are actually not welcome on my site.
I rather keep it small, cool and powerful, without any wankers.
