I am a little under time pressure and cannot release that many videos of the recent trip. A few more are still coming soon, but not much edited ones. Finally I got into the position where I can realize more and more cool ideas and one good person refers me to the next good one, etc.. The quality stuff is growing steadily.
Check out those ninjas below. I am not affiliated with them. By chance they just had been at these twin towers where we were doing the little Muay Thai boxing match.
I like to quote Louis Pasteur : “Chance favors the prepared mind” ! I didn’t think 5 years ago that I could do the stuff I am doing now, just check the older videos, that path wasn’t set at all from the beginning.
The pic below was taken around 2 weeks ago. This isn’t an event or a special day. It’s just a normal week at my pharmacy store which is part of my business. And that is happening here since more than 4 years already. Do you know any privately or even corporate owned retail store in entire Germany that had such lines almost constantly for over 4 years in front of their stores ? Hm, that might be a single case retail record to claim. Global Nanpa truly became a role model drug delivery man. Scaling up ? Forget it, I got enough…
This video shows a lifestyle that might be cooler/more fun than the one of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner ever was (at least from what I have seen of his life). South East Asia, Thailand in particular, is just better than the USA for enjoying, that’s his main disadvantage…
5 years Global Nanpa : yeah !
Some hot news : Fabian Thylmann, German, 34, and man behind the world’s biggest porn empire Manwin (Pornhub, Youporn, Reality Kings, Brazzers, Mydirtyhobby, Digital Playground, online activity license for Playboy, etc.. – around 500 million Euro revenues/year, 30% margin, 16 billion clicks and 300 million user per month…) got raided in Belgium and extradited to Germany because of tax evasion. He is now free on bail for a low double digit million Euro sum (21st of December, 2012). I believe that it was his mistake to show up and speak in public earlier this year in Las Vegas, drawing a lot of attention on his person. First it was Kim Schmitz (Megaupload) beginning of this year, now they crack down on the next (German) internet genius.
I would like to stress once more that I personally have no interest in porn with this website and I am only doing legal things.
Finally Cloudless is out where I was able to realize a few cool ideas. It is unlikely that my own videos get better than this. Cloudless is my new benchmark.
I filmed and edited this video alone and that’s how I will keep it in the future : Independent – not losing the fun ! Lots of technical things could be made much better, but that might result in less shooting motivation for me and I think I reached a point where this should simply be enough.
As I am getting older, I will eventually try less hard to create hobby videos as such.
The new, self-constructed video account totaled 0.9 million total video views in its first year. It is not really important to me, but it shows that this kind of content does interest and entertain some people, giving a bit of guidance in addition.

At 6:20 min I fly from Manila to Bangkok with a Gulfstream G200, it’s a 2:30h flight.
Mr. Suvichai and Rudi (German) were the pilots of that flight, operated under Advance Aviation. Rudi was working before in the USA, for Netjets. It was interesting what he told me about the wishes/plans of some of the customers there. Not many people actually plan their schedule as long-term as I do. Often he got requests like the following : “I like to be in Vegas in 3 hours. Can you do it ?” The bookings came in pretty spontaneously and they often had to react fast.
He told me that 5% are difficult customers, the rest are fine.
Fergie’s management from the Black Eyed Peas once requested to fly with Advance Aviation’s Gulfstream G200. They had to reject her because of too much baggage !
It’s really ridiculous how much baggage the celebrities and very wealthy people often carry around.
I was the second person only they ever flew in the Gulfstream who was first, in there alone and second with only 1 piece of baggage.
Regular customers are Toyota managers or government officials. They often fly to Burma as well.
A Gulfstream G200 costs around USD 25 million. The most advanced private jet available at the moment is the G650 : a new one costs around USD 65 million at the moment and the running costs are very high. There are maybe only 5000 people in the world who could seriously consider buying one. Below a net worth of around USD 500 million it doesn’t make much sense.
I heard an exciting story from Advance Aviation about their pilot Mr. Somkiat Kraitip. I was actually flying with him once in 2011 with the EC-135 helicopter from Peninsula hotel Bangkok to Pattaya (video “The Big Mango”). This helicopter pilot once rescued Tay Za, the richest man of Burma (billionaire), when he was in a life-threatening situation.
Unfortunately Mr. Somkiat will retire in Chiang Mai around May 2013 : he is a cool, true Thai character. I am very happy that I had the opportunity to get to know him and to fly with him at least once.
I want to thank Advance Aviation and MJETS for the pleasant flight and especially for giving me permission for this (at this point of time) unique/exclusive video filming for Thailand. The private jet terminal in Bangkok is operated by MJETS (Bill Heinecke is an investor). Advance Aviation and MJETS are “befriended” competitors.
The main negative issue I had with my flight is that it was much to organize (around 15 Emails and 15 SMS in total). If you have a personal manager who is doing that, then no big deal. But I had to stay in touch with them and things are simply much more doomed for spontaneous decisions than with a fixed first-class international flight. Another surprise was that I could not walk straight in the G200. I had to go down a little with my head when walking around which isn’t too great, but still not a big problem.
In summary : Flying with a private jet is mainly a vehicle for absolute privacy and for very flexible schedules, it’s not necessarily much faster nor much more convenient than a fixed first-class flight. Flying a Gulfstream jet is around 10 to 40 times more expensive than flying first-class (depends on the distance), it certainly makes sense for some individuals. I am sure they will do well in Thailand.
Something I very much love about the Peninsula hotel Bangkok is that it is a safe bet. I stayed there now 5 times and I always had a good time, they never dissapointed and the performance is very consistent. It’s the only top hotel of Bangkok I visited more often where no felt mistakes happened on any visit. I came from Peninsula hotel Manila that day. The arrival was very smooth, when their green BMW-7-series limousine parked I got greeted by a few people from the management in front of the main door entrance. Mark Choo I never recognized there before, but he made a very friendly and smart first impression on me.
The Peninsula hotel Bangkok is undergoing changes in terms of management. Ms. Henke will be the new MD by end of this month : she is German, coming from the Peninsula hotel Shanghai. The former GM, French gentleman Mr. Beliard, will soon have the honor to open the first Peninsula hotel in Europe, in Paris, starting there January 2013.
Staff at the Peninsula hotel is nerdy and friendly like usual. One little negative issue I found out about the suite : It’s actually not perfectly sound-proof as I thought before. When you have neighbors next to you, which I never had before, then it is possible to hear noises from your bedroom which wasn’t too great.
Their swimming pool and spa are the 2 main reasons for me, visiting the more distant and isolated Peninsula hotel. They have a new green, luxury tuktuk in their fleet of vehicles now, in Manila they have a green jeepney : great idea.
This was my second stay at the royal suite. My first stay was good but a few little mistakes happened. This time everything worked out well and I was very satisfied with my stay. Their Bentley was in maintenance during my stay but I had the plan anyway to book the Jaguar XJL from the Oriental Residences which I prefer.
I had a very good butler for the evening. She was helpful and polite. The thing where the St. Regis beats them all is : pure luxury and pampering. It is probably Bangkok’s most luxurious hotel suite. There hardly is anything you cannot get and staff/butlers will always be around. Moreover you are able to really go out in the evening which is rather difficult to do at the Peninsula or Mandarin Oriental because of the distant location. Tar and I had a good time in the suite. I also tried their Sunday brunch for the first time which is excellent. Thanks a lot to the St. Regis staff. Faiek is their new F&B director, Steffen is now working in Beijing.
Lady Gaga did stay in this royal suite, in May 2012. I cut out the scene when it got confirmed in the video, to protect staff. I talked with plenty of staff members about her visit. She was only really visible once when she entered the hotel. There is a 2 minute video on youtube existing of that happening. The management around her was tight : they did not allow photos, approaches and direct eye-contact. She only went out once for watching the Ladyboy show “Calypso”. That’s your life when you become a music star for major labels who plan your life on work travels and make sure to exploit you the maximum way, creating a non-existent pseudo life around the person to make it desirable (=sellable) for the mass. I don’t want to trade with her life and also not with any movie actor’s life.
An even bigger “celebrity” visited Bangkok recently : Obama, the US president stayed at the Four Seasons Bangkok on Sunday, 18th of November, 2012. It was the first time ever an American president visited Thailand. He did some sightseeing at Wat Pho, the temple of the Reclining Buddha and he also paid his respect to the king of Thailand, visiting him at Siriraj hospital.
Some might wonder why he stayed in the older Four Seasons hotel and not in the more luxurious St. Regis which is located just next to it ? Both hotels are owned by the Minor group (Bill Heinecke). To solve the riddle : There was a request letting Obama stay at the royal suite of St. Regis but the hotel management recommended to let him stay at the Four Seasons next door because there was an event going on at the St. Regis that time and they were well booked. The management had concerns not being able to guarantee his safety, having gotten the request very late. The Four Seasons simply wasn’t this busy at that weekend. And no, Obama did not walk through any secret underground tunnels to the St. Regis. LOL. He stayed overnight at the Four Seasons, most likely in the Jim Thompson suite, room 854. I stayed twice there too, it’s a fantastic suite. You might want to check the video guide of the suite.
This video got filmed in July 2012 by Jakob with a Red Scarlet (4k resolution) camera. We filmed the first part inside my laboratory in Berlin. The Ferrari 458 Spider part was described in a previous post already, here you see the better scenes of the video actually. This is just a raw cut, it wasn’t the finished stage for the opener. Anyway, I think it is entertaining, so I share it like usual.
The risk of that project got too high and it was too stressful. Living up to my claim that I regard all this as a hobby, I changed the ongoing structure of the recent and of future trips : it gets more healthy and I reduce the nightlife section as well – this is also because of getting more mature/older (now aged 34), as part of my evolution process.
Furthermore it’s just better for me when I don’t have to rely on too many people, doing the majority of things alone. High video quality (1080p+good lenses) became almost abundant these days (Iphone 5, etc.), enabling me to use several (smaller) video devices in addition. During the recent trip I already adapted my videos the way you are going to see it in the next years. There is plenty of cool stuff coming up and more things are planned.
I was on the way of becoming fat when we filmed this last summer. I am still not back to a great shape, but I suppose I should be ok again til the next trip (soon), now starting again to work out every day.
Lita (Top Gun, Jakarta) on the “USA’s war against muslimic countries”
Here is the spontaneous videotaped chat I had with Lita from Top Gun, Jakarta, in May 2012.
From my point of view the USA (not the majority of its citizens !) is a very imperialistic country which fights wars in all countries and zones where they could potentially benefit from and where the reasons for such moves are still more easy to justify. Demonizing the Islam and muslimic nations as a whole makes it more easy to invade a bunch of countries and to bring them in line with their own power structure.
I am really not a big fan of China, the other superpower. But, I strongly doubt the Chinese government would ever go so far to invade other countries.
I am not much into politics and news, but a few things do make me angry like the recent (probably staged) Youtube video named “Innocence of Muslims” that caused riots and violence in many muslimic countries. Indonesia is the world’s most populous muslimic nation. Hizb ut-Tharir, other parties and organizations are in rage. Let’s hope that no outbrake of violence happens there like it did in other countries. It just destablizes the country.

A Global Nanpa showreel, 2012
The showreel includes video scenes from December 2005 until December 2011.
Video filmed by : Cornelius Spielberger and Jakob Montrasio
Sound developed by : Thomas H.
“Nana” – Mascot design and animation : Gerome+team
For helping me with this showreel I want to thank Jakob, Thomas, Ni and Gerome a lot. Global Nanpa now got a new logo and 3-D-mascot, her name is “Nana” : the name originates from Nana Plaza, Sukhumvit Soi 4, and BTS Nana station in Bangkok. There is more cool stuff with Nana coming soon.
So this video is something like a “Best of Global Nanpa” from 6 years of videotaping (Dec 2005 until Dec.2011) during my trips. It also shows the broad spectrum of interests well. Some places occur in the video that had been hot in the past but disappeared already. I am closing this post with a citation from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off : “Life goes pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it !”
Global Nanpa is back, bros – shortly at least. I will have to delay quite a few cool realeases like from the trip before as well to summer time. I love it in Germany during summer anyway, it can be better than rainy season in some countries of South East Asia. Moreover I am in hardcore money-making mode which doesn’t allow too much non-sense time waste.
I did a hot model shoot one day on the last trip. We met up at the grand avantgarde suite, my favorite Bangkok hotel suite at the moment, Le Meridien hotel in Silom and moved on from there. The models are : Jang at the very left, a wild Thai actress with a dangerous dragon tattoo on her body you will see later. Second from left is Lookpare, you might know her from FHM or Zoo magazine Thailand. She won a few model competitions, clinched the top 5 title of the FHM Thailand GND 2009 competition and optained the status of “guru” in Zoo magazine. When I saw her before on the photos I was very unsure of her person, but I can tell you that she is incredible friendly/polite and professional. I consider her to be the hottest Asian babe I have met/worked with so far. The videos/photos in lingery I made of her are fucking hot !!! Aueng on the very right is a tall, curvy and funny Thai girl. Last one is Nicci who is half Thai, half Dutch. Her dad is from the Netherlands where she also grew up, she moved to Bangkok 4 years ago if I remember correctly. She is a Victoria’s Secret Singapore model. When I researched her profile a bit more yesterday, I found out that she also appeared in some music videos and had little acting roles – I didn’t know of that before. She is the girl-friend of the French Oskar bistro owner on Sukhumvit Soi 11, next to Bed Supperclub. She is also well connected to lots of other half Thai models it seems. Later on I met a half Thai, half Danish model named Cher who seem to know each other. The Sukhumvit Soi 11 party model world is small, they know each other. I went out with Cher for dinner twice. She probably thought my life as a (sex ??) tourist is pretty miserable and introduced me to her sister, husband and others to bring me more under locals. The chats I had with her were the best and most critical ones I ever had with a Thai girl (well, she is half…). It is too funny but her sisters husband Rudi, a Venture Capital/+trading company owner I have seen before on some Halloween party pictures last year. His costumes are really cool, he is also known for his parties at Bed Supperclub. We once were jogging at Lumpini park and went back to his apartment, the Ascott Sathorn. He got a nice view from his balcony, looking down on the swimming pool of the about to open W of the Starwood group (doesn’t look as good as the Sofitel So ones I already have to admit). Rudi has an interesting life path : he grew up in Chile, later moved to the USA, Miami, became a US citizen, worked as an investment banker and started a VC company in New Zealand/Australia, working on a permit for Thailand now. He knows his wife Lena since more than 10 years (crazy in Thailand…) having met her at a Taekwondo class in Bangkok, he has two kids now and loves playing golf and partying. He got membership at 2 golf clubs in Thailand, we might get a chance to play together sometime this year – i haven’t played in ages and do suck – this could get embarrassing for me….
Below you see Milk, a super-sweet Thai girl with some chinese blood influences. Her eyes are very special and she is 175cm tall, rare for Thailand. I met her at Suvarnabhumi airport. The video, photo material I collected with her is sweet.
And, I was in South America for a week, fucking Medellin, Colombia, baby ! Besides learning more about cocaine and the life of Pablo Escobar, I probably saw some of the hottest chicks of my entire life there, but overall I prefer the South East Asian world – the curvy, sexy bodies are gorgeous, but I was missing just too much there. I was also my second time in Cambodia : finally managed to get to Siem Reap and seeing Angkor Wat.
Man, things are crazy, hard to get up to date with the website this year.
The Sofitel So is a brand-new luxury hotel from the Accor group at the one end of North Sathorn road with amazing views overlooking Lumpini park. The 238 rooms hotel had its opening on February 28th and I had the opportunity to get a tour through it yesterday.
I was really impressed of the design, concept and friendly/attentive staff. The themed accomodation is inspired by the five elements : earth, metal, wood, water, fire. The rooms are equipped with a Mac Mini and a really advanced control network that offers a few new features I haven’t seen before.
The infinity hotel pool is smashing, it is quite big considering the number of rooms. I didn’t get a chance to see a treatment room of the spa, but the paintings on the wall and whole atmosphere appeared very inviting.
Restaurant Red Oven is already open, Park Society and the bar Hi So on the rooftop are opening mid of March. Chocolab, a sweet chocolate store is located on the ground flor.
I have booked a SO Lofty suite there for May, I will then write a review. The uniform the staff is wearing designed by Christian Lacroix is the most beautiful hotel outfit I have ever seen. This hotel totally excites me. Now the W, opening October, from the Starwood group is pretty much under pressure to compete with such a strong and stylish soft opening.
Thanks a lot to the Sofitel So staff for the tour : I am very much looking forward staying there, trying the spa and other facilities…
Bali : a journey beyond the infinite, 2009 – 2 new edits
The video that I originally released end of 2009 got quite popular : 580.000 views on youtube and doubling in the last month before it had to be taken down. I used this opportunity to edit 2 new versions for the video.
I believe that of my 500+ videos this one might be one of the most complete videos. In case you just got to know Global Nanpa, this might be a good first video to watch. Check the Th.S.version :
It is funny that I actually get most of the credits and good feedback not for the naughty stuff but for explorer trips, reviews and for rather romantic videos. Check the B.M. version :
