3. NAMI TEPPANYAKI STEAKHOUSE, JW Marriott hotel, Sukhumvit Soi 2

Excellent food, chefs, design : simply hard to beat. If you love japanese food in Bangkok, you need to make a stop at the JW Marriott.

4. TSU, JW Marriott, Sukhumvit Soi 2

If you don’t want the show of teppanyaki, you can go for the plain Tsu restaurant, a pure sushi bar is in front of the restaurant as well. Stylish design combined with fine japanese cuisine.

5.  NAHM, Metropolitan hotel, 27 South Sathorn road

Best authentic Thai food restaurant in an high-class setting which appears more Japanese than Thai. Mr. Thompson is considered to be one of the best chefs in town.

13. BOUCHOT, Sukhumvit Soi 24, Oakwood residences

One of the sweetest Belgium/French restaurants in town. Ambience and interior design are very inviting. Food is good but not exceptional.

16. HONMONO GRAND, 66 Soi Pipat, Sathorn

They maybe have the freshest fish of Bangkok’s japanese restaurant. Still the place lacks a certain vibe and appears too artificial to me.

17. ISAO, Sukhumvit Soi 31

Small-sized, charming and hip sushi place with low prices.

18.  IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE, Sumhumvit Soi 36

Place got inspired by the movie and the interior sets you back into HongKong in its 60s. A charming boutique restaurant with tasty dishes and an unusual, interesting mix of guests.

19. BAN KHUN MAE, 458/6-9 Siam Square Soi 8

Simple, medium-sized Thai restaurant in the Chulalongkorn University area. It has a mixed crowd of guests and fair price levels.

20. GRAND RAMEN, Thonglor

Bangkok’s best Ramen place. Moderate price level, tasty dishes and friendly guests.

21. NAJ, Convent road, Silom

Traditional Thai restaurant with a nice ambience. Food is good and the service staff is very friendly too.

22. KOI, Sukhumvit Soi 20

Stylish Japanese restaurant. The food is good, but it lacks character.

23. DAIISHI, Emerald Hotel, Ratchadapisek Rd.

The hotel used to be popular among Thais and Thai military people. The famous massage parlor places like Caesar’s, Emanuelle, Poseidon, etc. are also on the street. Daiishi offers the best price/value all-you-can eat Japanese buffet in BKK.

24. BISCOTTI, Four Seasons hotel, 155 Raijdamri Road

Good Italian restaurant inside of the Four Seasons.

25. SIROCCO restaurant, State Tower, Silom Road

It is the world’s highest open rootop restaurant. The view over Bangkok is the best about this restaurant. You should see it at least once. However the cuisine is not good enough to go there regularly, moreover it is expensive. Have a drink afterwards at the bar if you are free from giddiness.

26. WATERSIDE restaurant

I don’t know the exact address. It is a quite large, open air restaurant. Many Thai families and company-sponsored people can be seen here. The Thai cuisine is very good and the atmosphere relaxing next to the water. They also have live Thai music. Medium price range.

27. H1 – TO DIE FOR restaurant, Soi Thong Lor, Sukhumvit Soi 55

Hip place. International cuisine, very cool garden terrace. Price level is medium.

28.OAM THONG, Sukhumvit Soi 33

Very good traditional Thai cusine for a reasonable price next to numerous hostess lounges and nightclubs.

29. C’EST BON restaurant, President Place building, Ploenchit Road

Interesting French restaurant. Medium price level.

30. SOULFOOD MAHANAKORN, Thonglor

Poor-serviced Thai eating place which tends to be hip right now among farangs.

31. SPRING AND SUMMER, 199 Soi Promsi 2, Sukhumvit Soi 39

Good Thai cusine and a nice location. Medium price range.

32.ZANZIBAR, Sukhumvit Soi 11

Thai-Italian fusion cusine, medium prized. One of the better, spacious restaurants in that area.
