L’Appart restaurant, Hotel Sofitel, Sukhumvit, Bangkok
L’Appart is located at the top flor, 32, of the Sofitel Sukhumvit hotel. The place is divided into an open kitchen area, a living room, a dining room and a library lounge area. It almost feels like a cozy apartment up there. It is a Parisian Haussmann-style design.

Tar and I only had a dessert because we actually ate at D’Sens before but still wanted to include L’Appart into our schedule that day. The beginning shows us leaving from Oriental Residences with the new Jaguar XJL, an eye-catcher. The person on the left greeting us they recruited away from the Four Seasons.

The lounge is really cool, finally a hotel lounge that plays my music taste (deep house) and that in lower Sukhumvit – perfect…
Still, for the culinary experience (lots of staff come from the old V9) they might be slightly weaker than Scarlett at the new Pullman in Silom. I am cautious with a judgement, I still need to try chef Tourret’s cuisine. The menu changes around every 2 weeks.
Scarlett is more loud however and very big, L’Appart appears more intimate.
L’Appart and Scarlett are very different from the more classic French restaurants like D’Sens (my favorite) and Reflexions.
Overall we had a very pleasent experience there, I am sure we are back. Price levels are not that high as well.
At the moment there seem to be a shortage of staff similar like at some other new hotel restaurants as well.
