Okura hotel, Bangkok
The 240 rooms luxury hotel is located in the middle of Witthayu (Wireless road), close to BTS Ploenchit station and the about to open Central Embassy shopping mall.

I had a prepaid prestige suite for around THB 14k++. The executive lounge is good. The design of all facitilies in general are very impressive and they did achieve to give the hotel a modern japanese feel.

Maybe I simply visited them too early, in the first month of opening, I was rather dissapointed when I left them. They have the hardware but lack the software.
The staff got trained hard to be attentive and to bow up to someone, similar like in the top hotels of Japan, but it is simply show. The place lacks substance at the moment. Most people I asked about several things really weren’t informed in detail about it.
The lady who introduced me to the rooms was an exception, she was very good, helpful/friendly. They recruited her from Centara.

The swimming pool is 25m long and could be good but there is nothing else around and not many chairs, I doubt it will be used much. The hotel appears sterile and it was not so exciting to explore it at the moment.
It’s a good business hotel maybe for a certain type of clientele.
Best I still liked the bathrooms of the suites.
